The Protea flower aligns with our values:

• Protea flowers symbolise strength, resilience, transformation, diversity and courage.
• Proteas flower in autumn, winter and spring; however, the species overall is evergreen.
• Protea blooms thrive best after wildfires due to the scorching of their outer shell, allowing dormant buds to finally emerge!

We know that running a business isn't easy.  We support businesses to implement short, medium and long term strategies for success.

Protea consulting is owned by Derick and Rachel Kotze.

Derick has worked as a country buying director for Shoprite, the largest FCMG retailer in Africa and is able to provide a wide range of procurement support.

Rachel Kotze is an ACCA chartered accountant with over 15 years experience in leading the finance function within SME's in a wide range of sectors.

We are here to support business growth, resilience and success, we do this by really understanding the businesses we work with and what they want to achieve, then tailoring solutions.

We prefer to have long term relationships with our clients to support strategic growth, whether that be through an ongoing relationship or one off projects when needed.

We are all about added value, a by product of our added value services is meeting the legal basics and ensuring the back office runs smoothly.

Sales and marketing provides the aesthetics that customers see, the foundations ensure the businesses is strong and resilient and able to weather storms.  Both aspects of the business are equally important.

We believe in strong foundations, they are easier to build at the beginning but can be strengthened in established businesses to support growth.

In order to sustainably build and grow, businesses need strong foundations.

Our first action for the businesses we work with on a long term basis is to review and strengthen the foundations, we then support businesses to build on those foundations having already ensured strong systems, processes, procedures and controls are in place to robustly and resiliently support growth.

Robust business decisions require robust, factual, accurate information.  We ensure all processes are in place to provide high quality information for decision making. 

We will ensure your basic systems such as bookkeeping, reconciliations, management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cashflow management are in place because these are the foundations for growth.
